Lick NPM2 Catalog

The NPM2 Catalog (Hanson, Klemola, Jones, and Monet 2003) contains 232,062 stars in 108 one-degree declination zones from +83 to -23 degrees.

A ``Dear Colleague'' letter introducing the NPM2 Catalog is here. A description of the Catalog's content and format is given in a ReadMe file.

The one-degree zone catalogs can be accessed here. The catalog is also available as one file (compressed, 6.4 Mb) concatenating the 108 zones in North-to-south order.

The NPM2 Cross-Identifications and Appendices, completed in March 2004, contains 46,887 entries for 34,868 stars. A ``Dear Colleague'' letter introducing the NPM2 Cross-IDs is here. A description of the NPM2 Cross-IDs' content and format is given in a ReadMe file. The NPM2 Cross-Identifications and Appendices can be accessed here.

A paper describing the NPM2 Catalog and Cross-IDs, entitled ``Lick Northern Proper Motion Program. III. Lick NPM2 Catalog'' (R. B. Hanson, A. R. Klemola, B. F. Jones, and D. G. Monet) has been published in the Astronomical Journal (AJ, 128, 1430-1445, September 2004). This paper can also be accessed electronically via the Smithsonian/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS), under the ADS Bibcode 2004AJ....128.1430H.

The Lick Star Identification Catalog (LSIC), completed in November 2005, is a supplement containing 32,093 identifications for 18,357 stars not included in NPM2, but identified by Klemola at the Lick Survey Machine. Section 7.4 of Hanson et al. (2004) describes the LSIC. These confirmed identifications and arcsecond-accuracy positions will be useful to observers wishing to locate these stars, as well as to compilers of stellar databases such as SIMBAD. A description of the content and format of the LSIC is given in a ReadMe file. The LSIC data file and several Appendices can be accessed here.
